    Product Overview

    Laminar flow hood isolator is a device that combines high-efficiency air filtration technology with local airflow control. By forming a stable unidirectional airflow, it establishes a clean level higher than the surrounding environment inside the hood or isolation space, while preventing external pollutants from entering or preventing internal pollutants from spreading to the outside, thereby achieving protection for the operatingobjects (such as drugs, precision components) or protection for operators and the environment (such as biohazardous materials).

    Working Principle

    • Air circulation and filtration: After the external air (or part of the circulating air) passes through the primary filter to remove large particles of impurities, it is sent to the high-efficiency filter (HEPA, filtration efficiency ≥99.97%@0.3μm) or ultra-high-efficiency filter (ULPA) by the fan. The filtered clean air forms a laminar flow along a specific direction (vertical or horizontal) at a uniform wind speed (usually 0.3-0.5m/s).
    • One-way flow isolation: The The clean airflow forms a "piston-like" driving effect in the isolation space, carrying the internal pollutants out of the isolation area with the airflow and discharged through the return air port or exhaust port (part of the exhaust air needs to be filtered again to avoid polluting the environment), thereby maintaining the cleanliness of the hood and preventing cross contamination.

    Advantages of Laminar Flow Hood Isolator

    • The laminar flow hood isolator actively creates and maintains a high clean environment of ISO Class 5 (Class 100) and above through unidirectional laminar flow (through HEPA/ULPA high-efficiency filtration). The disinfection compatibility (adaptable to clean area disinfection methods such as VHP and hydrogen peroxide) is highly compatible with the clean room environment, and can continuously remove internal particles, microorganisms and other pollutants to ensure that the cleanliness in the isolation space is stable and controllable.
    • In the filling of sterile preparations in the pharmaceutical industry, the laminar flow hood isolator can directly protect the liquid medicine and container from microbial contamination. When assembling semiconductor chips, the laminar flow hood isolator can prevent external dust from adhering to the surface of the chip,
    • (Some scenes can be designed as positive pressure) to prevent the intrusion of external unpurified air, and at the same time, with the smooth and easy-to-clean inner wall and directional airflow, the risk of the operating object (such as precision electronic components, cell culture samples, sterile drugs) being contaminated by the external environment is minimized to achieve the "internal protection" function.
    • The laminar flow hood isolator has a uniform airflow speed (0.3-0.5m/s), a clear path (such as top delivery and bottom return), no turbulence or dead corners, and the operator can clearly predict the direction of the airflow, reducing the risk of disturbing the clean environment due to operating actions.
    • The hood design is more flexible, and the size can be adjusted according to operational requirements (such as a local laminar flow hood can cover a specific operating area), and because the internal pressure is positive, the airflow disturbance when opening the door/transferring materials is small (only a short-term impact, and recovery is rapid).
    • The fan system of the laminar flow hood isolator only needs to maintain local laminar flow and positive pressure, and the air volume is small; while the negative pressure isolator usually requires a high-power fan to continuously extract and exhaust to ensure the stability of negative pressure and exhaust filtration efficiency, and the energy consumption is higher.
