What Are The Classifications Of Clean Rooms?

2023-01-08

1、 TurbulentFlow:

That is, the air enters the clean room from the air conditioning box through the air duct and the air filter (HEPA) in the clean room, and the air returns from the partition wallboards or elevated floors on both sides of the clean room. The air flow is in an irregular turbulent or eddy state due to its non linear motion. This type is applicable to the clean room level of 1000-100000. Its advantages are: simple structure, system construction cost, easy expansion of the clean room, and in some special use places, dust-free workbench can be used together to improve the level of the clean room.

Disadvantages: The fine dust particles caused by turbulence floating in the indoor space are not easy to be discharged, and the process products are easy to be polluted. In addition, if the system is stopped and reactivated, it often takes a long time to achieve the required cleanliness.

2、 Laminar:

The laminar air flow moves into a uniform straight line. The air enters the room through a filter with a coverage of 100% and returns to the room through an elevated floor or partition boards on both sides. This type of air flow is applicable to the environment where the cleanroom level needs to be set higher. Generally, the cleanroom level is Class1-100. There are two types:

1. Horizontal laminar flow type: the horizontal air is blown out from the filter in one direction and returned from the return air system of the opposite wall. The dust is discharged out of the room with the wind. Generally, it is seriously polluted at the downstream side. Advantages: simple structure, stable in a short time after operation. Disadvantages: The construction cost is higher than that of turbulence type, and the indoor space is not easy to expand.

2. Vertical laminar flow type: the ceiling of the room is completely covered by ULPA filter, and the air can be blown from top to bottom to obtain a higher cleanliness. The dust generated during the manufacturing process or by the staff can be quickly discharged out of the room without affecting other working areas. Advantages: easy to manage, stable state can be reached within a short time after operation, and it is not easy to be affected by operation state or operators. Disadvantages: the construction cost is high, the elastic application space is difficult, the ceiling hanger takes up quite a lot of space, and the maintenance and replacement of filters are more troublesome.

3. MixedType:

The compound type is to compound or combine turbulent flow type and laminar flow type, which can provide local super clean air.

① Clean Tunnel: 100% coverage of the process area or working area with HEPA or ULPA filters to improve the cleanliness level to more than 10, which can save installation and operation costs. This type needs to isolate the working area of the operator from the product and machine maintenance, so as to avoid affecting the work and quality during machine maintenance. This type is mostly used in ULSI manufacturing processes. The clean tunnel has two other advantages: easy elastic expansion; Equipment maintenance can be easily carried out in the maintenance area.

② Clean Tube: surround and purify the automatic production line through which the product flow passes, and raise the cleanliness level to above 100. As the product is isolated from the operator and the dust producing environment, a small amount of air supply can achieve good cleanliness, which can save energy. The automatic production line without manual work is the most suitable for use. It is applicable to the pharmaceutical, food and semiconductor industries.

③ Combined installation of a local clean room (CleanSpot): the cleanliness level of the product process area in the turbulent flow clean room with a clean room level of 10000~100000 is increased to more than 10~1000 for production; Clean workbenches, clean sheds and clean air cupboards belong to this category. In addition, there are clean workbenches and clean sheds.
