How To Maintain Clean Room Cleanliness

2022-01-21

There are three major inspects to pay attention to in maintaining clean room cleanliness.

1. The inner surface of the clean room and its internal equipment

The principle is that material selection is important, and daily cleaning and disinfection are more important. In order to comply with GMP and achieve cleanliness specifications, all surfaces in the clean room should be smooth and airtight, and not produce their own contamination, i.e. not produce dust, or chipping, be corrosion resistant, and be easy to clean, which would otherwise provide a place for microorganisms to multiply , the surface should be strong and durable, not cracked, broken or dented. Regular cleaning and disinfection should be carried out according to the requirements of clean rooms at all levels. It is recommended that the operating table should be cleaned and disinfected after each operation, the floor should be disinfected every day, the wall surface should be disinfected every week, and the space should be cleaned every month.

2. Control of clean indoor air

In general, it is necessary to choose a suitable clean room design, regular maintenance, and daily monitoring. Special attention should be paid to the monitoring of planktonic bacteria in the pharmaceutical clean room. The planktonic bacteria in the space are used to extract a certain volume of air in the space with a planktonic bacteria sampler. Put the dish into the incubator to count the number of colonies, and calculate the number of microorganisms in the space.

3. Requirements for personnel in the clean room

Personnel working in the clean room should receive regular training in the theory of pollution control. Depending on the classification or function of the clean room, staff may wear lab coats and hoods for simple protection, or full body protection that does not expose any skin.

Clean protective equipment includes protective clothing, boots, shoes, aprons, beard covers, round caps, masks, overalls/lab coats, gowns, gloves and finger cots, sleeve covers and shoe and boot covers. The type of clean room clothing used should reflect the clean room and product category. Low-level clean rooms may require special shoes with completely smooth soles that won't stand on dust or dirt. But for safety reasons, the sole should not pose a slipping hazard. A clean suit is usually required to enter a clean room. A class 10000 clean room can use simple lab coats, head covers and shoe covers. For a class 100 clean room, a full body wrap, zippered gown, goggles, mask, gloves and boot covers are required.

In addition, the number of people in the clean room should be controlled, and the movements should be gentle, avoiding large and rapid movements.
