The color steel sandwich panel is a building panel made of two layers of color coated steel plates as the panel, and thermal insulation materials such as polystyrene, polyurethane, phenolic foam, rock wool, etc. as the core. The core material and the panel are combined into a whole through continuous molding process on a special automatic production line, commonly known as "sandwich panel".

As it has a series of advantages such as bearing capacity, thermal insulation, decoration, waterproof, simple construction, etc., it has been widely recognized and used in building cleanrooms, posing challenges to traditional building materials such as bricks and stones, and becoming a new force in the building materials industry.

Comparison of core material types and properties

The core materials of color steel sandwich panels can be divided into two categories according to the chemical composition of their products. One is organic chemical foam materials, such as polystyrene foam EPS, polyurethane foam Pu, extruded polystyrene foam XPS, phenolic foam PF, etc; the other is inorganic fiber materials, such as rock wool board, foam cement board, etc.

1. Polyurethane foam color steel sandwich panel (PU)

Polyurethane foam color steel sandwich panel is made of flame-retardant rigid polyurethane foam as core material and color coated steel plate as surface material.

At present, metal faced rigid polyurethane sandwich panels are widely used in industrial plants, warehouses, stadiums and gymnasiums, civil residences, villas, prefabricated houses, combined refrigerators and other buildings

2. Polystyrene foam color steel sandwich panel EPS

Polystyrene is the white foam we often see. This color steel plate is cheap, water-resistant and does not deform. Most mobile houses on the construction site are built with polystyrene sandwich panels, which are widely used. However, polystyrene foam sandwich panels are not fireproof and have the worst thermal insulation effect

3. Rock wool color steel sandwich panel

The rock wool color steel sandwich panel has good fire resistance, widely used in clean room project, prefab house, container house, etc. but the rock wool color steel panel is not waterproof.

As a whole, rock wool insulation board has light weight, very small thermal conductivity coefficient, good elasticity, is not easy to burn, not easy to decay, strong chemical stability, and also has the best sound insulation performance.

4. Paper honeycomb color steel sandwich panel

Paper honeycomb sandwich board can completely recycle and reuse waste. It is a replacement product of polystyrene board, polyurethane, rock wool and other materials. It is widely used in electronics, hospital operating rooms, laboratories and other clean engineering fields, but its waterproof effect is poor and its price is expensive.

5. Aluminum honeycomb sandwich panel

Aluminum honeycomb color steel sandwich plate is made of aluminum honeycomb core plate, which is compounded with special high-strength glue and color steel plate, and supported by special aluminum alloy keel after heating, pressurizing and curing. Compared with other sandwich panels, they are light in weight and good in straightness.
