Rotary evaporation is an indispensable concentration step in the pretreatment process of laboratories in various industries.

Rotary evaporation, often referred to as rotary evaporation, is a method for concentration and separation of sample solution. The rotator is generally equipped with a corresponding heat source to make the flask containing the sample liquid rotate at a constant speed to increase the evaporation area for rapid evaporation.

However, the disadvantages of using a rotary evaporator for concentration are obvious: the samples need to be changed continuously during batch concentration, and the laboratory personnel need to be on duty for a long time to make samples.

In order to solve the problem of batch sample preparation, we have brought qualitative changes to the pretreatment process of the laboratory, which not only greatly improves the concentration efficiency, but also saves manpower and precious fume hood space in the laboratory.

How does the vacuum parallel concentrator achieve efficient concentration?

Working principle

The equipment uses water bath heating and circumferential oscillation to provide heat. The sample solution can be quickly mixed to achieve uniform heat transfer and volatilization and avoid boiling. Concentration under vacuum and decompression is not easy to introduce oxygen or impurity interference, and the boiling point of the solution is low at this time. Only slight heating can promote volatilization, so that the concentration efficiency can be greatly improved.

Boiling often occurs during the operation of the traditional rotary evaporator, because the vacuum degree is reduced, and the boiling point of the sample solution will occur when it drops to the temperature of the solution at that time. Although adding zeolite can solve the boiling problem, it is easy to cause waste when taking out. Compared with the non-automatic operation of the rotary evaporator, the designed graphical interface can provide convenient human-computer interaction function, set the time or end point, automatically stop after the concentration is completed, and realize unattended. This is also the development direction of the modern laboratory. The rotary evaporator has the sample volume processing technology, which can only process one sample at a time, and the batch concentration speed is slow. Many laboratories have more inconvenience in the use process. The Ruike MPE high-throughput vacuum parallel concentrator combines the advantages of rotary evaporation and high-throughput evaporation. It can process multiple samples while preventing cross-contamination. The concentration efficiency is up to five times that of the traditional rotary evaporator!

As for a single concentration method, there are many factors that affect the final concentration effect. Only by continuously accumulating experience in practice and optimizing the concentration method can the best concentration effect be obtained. I believe everyone can find the most suitable enrichment method.
