The on-site installation requirements of biological safety cabinets should meet the following principles:
(1) The installation position of the biological safety cabinet should ensure that there is no less than 1000mm space for personnel activities in front of the front panel.
(2) The distance between the back and sides of the biological safety cabinet and the wall or other furniture and equipment should not be less than 300mm, and the distance between the top and the ceiling should not be less than 300mm.
(3) The distance between the front panel of the biological safety cabinet and the opposite side wall should not be less than 2000mm.
(4) The distance between the front panel of the biological safety cabinet and the contralateral experimental bench should not be less than 1500mm, and the distance between the side of the biological safety cabinet and the vertical experimental bench should not be less than 1000mm.
(5) When two biological safety cabinets are arranged opposite to each other, the distance between their front panels should not be less than 3000mm. When two biological safety cabinets are arranged adjacently, the distance between their side panels should not be less than 1000mm.
(6) When two biological safety cabinets are arranged vertically, the distance between the front panel of one biological safety cabinet and the side of the other biological safety cabinet should not be less than 1200mm.
(7) The location of the biological safety cabinet should avoid the walking route of personnel in the laboratory as much as possible, so as to avoid the movement of personnel affecting the airflow of the front panel of the biological safety cabinet. The position of the biological safety cabinet should avoid the front panel being too close to the air supply equipment to avoid affecting the airflow of the front panel of the biological safety cabinet.
(8) The biological safety cabinet should be placed at the door of the laboratory as far as possible. The distance between the front panel of the biological safety cabinet and the door should not be less than 1500mm, and the distance between the side of the biological safety cabinet and the door should not be less than 1000mm.
